If you are Under a Tsunami Warning in your Area:
- Move inland to higher ground immediately and stay there. Try to stay at least 25 feet above sea level and one mile inland from the shore.
- If remaining in a safe location at home or in your office, attempt to elevate the furnace, water heater and electric panel if possible, especially if you are in an area with high coastal flood risk.
- If feasible, construct barriers to stop floodwater from entering the building and seal walls in basements with waterproofing compounds.
- Gather the emergency supplies you previously stocked in your home and/or business and stay tuned to local radio or television station for updates.
- Turn off all utilities at the main power switch and close the main gas valve if evacuation appears necessary.
