Disaster Recovery Tip #23: Matters of the Heart

Did you know? Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for an estimated 325,000 deaths each year. And what's even scarier – approximately 95 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital.

As part of National CPR & AED Awareness Week, we are encouraging all employers to educate their staff on the risks of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of CPR and AED training.

What would you do if one of your co-workers went into cardiac arrest? How would you respond? Take the Red Cross Quiz and test your knowledge. Whether you are at work or at home, knowing how to perform CPR can increase your ability to respond and help save lives.
